Meetings at Little Rock Bible Chapel
We have three weekly meetings, and you're welcome to join us for any of them:
9:30am Sunday ~ the Lord's Supper
11am Sunday ~ Bible teaching & singing
7pm Wednesday ~ prayer meeting & Bible teaching
What to Expect
We celebrate communion every Sunday. While worshipping God is the central point of the Lord's Supper, its frequent celebration is also an essential part of refocusing our own hearts toward Him.
The hour is unscripted, led by men praying aloud and sharing hymns or thoughts from Scripture, as the Spirit guides.
If you are born-again believer walking obediently with the Lord, you are welcome to partake in the Lord's Supper with us. If you are not sure of your standing before the Lord, you are still welcome to come and observe; we simply ask that you pass the bread and cups as they come by.
Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings usually include expository or topical Bible teaching. Being in the Word of God is critical to Christian growth, so we encourage everyone to spend time in Scripture, both individually and corporately. The Sunday morning Bible teaching is usually from an individual passage or topic, while the Wednesday night teaching is generally part of an ongoing series. We recently spent several months going through the book of Colossians on Wednesday nights, and in the fall of 2010 we began a longer series about Israel's 40-year journey through the wilderness.
We do not have a traditional pastor but are led by recognized elders who are godly, qualified men and burdened to lead, serve and shepherd. They and other capable men do the Bible teaching and preaching. The New Testament indicates that the early churches had plurality of leadership, and the many benefits of that pattern hold true today, too.
Little Rock Bible Chapel is a comparatively small church, which allows us to function like a big family. We're regular people, with regular jobs, families, joys, trials, warts, and idiosyncrasies. Nobody is perfect. But our desire is to love, accept, and help each other just like a traditional family, encouraging each other to grow more like Jesus Christ.
Church isn't just a place to go and get spiritually filled up every week — it is a living body that needs every member to function well. God has given each believer unique abilities to minister to other believers, and we do that best when we are closely involved in each other's lives. Aside from regularly scheduled meetings, you'll frequently find us sharing meals in each other's homes or getting together for special occasions. And if you decide to visit our 11am Sunday meeting, we'd love for you to come 10-20 minutes early so we can meet you!
